Despite Gardnerian Wicca's reputation for rigidity, Mortellus affirms that The Coven of Leaves is orthopraxic rather than orthodoxic, takes a non-binary approach, and focuses on the practice and ethical use of the Craft itself. Mortellus teaches the mysteries of the Craft in phases, as the knowledge is earned, to be observed at rituals and otherwise appropriated into individual practice.
Our members have diverse ages and backgrounds, ranging from long-standing pillars of the local Pagan community to novices with little background in witchcraft at all. We currently serve the community with an Inner and Outer Court, online and long distance training, as well as providing pastoral counseling and performing rites of passage such as handfastings, weddings, and funerals.

All that is required of a seeker to The Coven of Leaves is a curious mind, a willingness to learn, and a sincere heart.

Coven of Leaves is a Gardnerian coven operating in Western North Carolina, and we adhere to the tradition as passed to us by our Long Island elders, and are open to individuals of all ages, races, sexual orientations, identities, and backgrounds. We are accepting long distance students as well as current students or initiates who may be seeking a more inclusive up-line.
